Cooperation within the EU framework and structural fund programs
The department is an interdisciplinary unit that combines expertise in physics, computer science, electronics, medical informatics, ICT, chemistry and occupational health. The unit has, with its location in the heart of the university hospital, a unique environment for research and development.
The department conducts research and development in close cooperation with national and international actors in health care, academy, research institutes and companies.
Our research and development projects are conducted together with medical, technical, academic, industrial and public partners. Several projects have led to commercial products for the healthcare sector, as well as industrial and academic partners.
The EU Framework Programme for the period 2014-2020 (Horizon 2020) and the EU regional structural funds (Objective 2, the Botnia-Atlantica, Colartic, Northern Periphery, etc.) are important arenas for financing research, development and innovation projects. The unit gives priority to active participation in EU funded projects. Information about current and past projects and what the department can offer as a collaborative partner is presented on this site.
