Västerbotten County Council is offering everyone who lives in the county vaccination against the new influenza free of charge.
When can I get vaccinated?
There will be enough vaccine for everyone in the county, but because all vaccine is not delivered at the same time, not everyone can be vaccinated at the same time. Risk groups, meaning those at risk of becoming seriously ill from the new influenza, and healthcare personnel will be vaccinated first. For more information about risk groups, see the heading Risk groups on the left side of the page.
The vaccination planning is preliminary and may change:
- Week 51-01 (14 December - 8 January), the vaccination of the rest of the public continues at the healthcare centres.
For more information about the vaccination clinic at your healthcare centre, see the respective healthcare centre’s part of the website.

Where can I get vaccinated?
Most Västerbotten residents can be vaccinated at their healthcare centre. However, how the healthcare centres arrange this in purely practical terms may vary. The open clinic method applies, meaning that you cannot book an appointment for a vaccination. For more information, see the respective healthcare centre in the link above. In the Skellefteå urban area, the healthcare centres have joined forces and on certain days will offer vaccinations on the hospital campus.
Most school students will be offered a vaccination through their school health service. As a parent, you can ask the school that your children attend how the vaccination will be organised there. For your child to be able to be vaccinated, you must have given your permission on the health declaration, about which more information is provided further down on this page. Students at Umeå University will be offered a vaccination on campus in Umeå. Students at branches of the university elsewhere in the county are referred to their local healthcare centre. Some large companies are vaccinating their staff through their company healthcare services. If you are uncertain, contact your employer.
